Many industrial facilities use a local water supply to rinse, spray, coat, wash or cool during processing. End products can be affected by unwanted minerals and contaminants, and bacteria such as Legionella, which causes Legionnaires' disease, can cause illness. The Accu-Tab® tablet chlorination system treats water to the highest standards. The powerful 68% calcium hypochlorite tablets deliver consistent, controllable levels of chlorine residual to kill harmful bacteria and control algae. Chlorine is also useful in preventing biological growth in still water.

Acrison feeders accurately and reliably feed chemicals common to this industry, such as hydrated lime, powdered activated carbon, soda ash, potassium permanganate, sodium fluoride, and sodium silico-fluoride, as well many other dry chemicals used in various treatment processes.
Utilizing either the Model W105 Series of feeder with its unique dual concentric auger, dissimilar speed metering mechanism, or the Model BDF-1.5 feeder with its novel triple auger metering/conditioning mechanism, Acrison can meet the full range of applications, from simple feeder/dissolver packages, to integrated bulk silo storage and feed systems.
Additional components required for a complete system are also designed and manufactured by Acrison, backed by decades of experience. Dust collectors with bag dump stations and bulk bag unloaders can be provided for safe unloading of the chemicals into the feeder. Dissolving tanks and wetting cones of various sizes are available to effectively dissolve the chemicals in water.
Building on the company’s chemical feed expertise, and innovative design concepts, Acrison has also become a leader in dry and liquid polymer blending technology. The Models 500 and 515 Dry Polymer Processing Systems employ a cyclone wetting chamber to impart the energy required to properly create a dilute solution from dry polymer. The Models 580 and 530 Liquid Polymer Blending Systems use a precision-engineered, and patented “Dispersion-Injector” to instantaneously blend liquid polymer with water. Available in a number of different sizes, and a variety of options, Acrison’s polymer systems are able to produce a highly efficient polymer solution for use in a wide range of dewatering and clarification processes.

Since 1975 Chlorinators Incorporated has successfully been in the water and wastewater treatment business, but their history goes back even farther to 1960, when Jim Haskett designed and patented the first direct-cylinder-mounted all vacuum gas chlorinator.
Before 1960, using chlorine gas had truly been a potentially hazardous business. Existing chlorinators used numerous valves and parts that could, and frequently did, fail and allow pure chlorine gas under pressure and/or chlorine solution to escape.
Haskett's invention changed all that. He mounted his vacuum gas chlorinator system directly on the tank and placed the ejector at the point of injection where the application needed to be chlorinated. Vacuum, rather than pressure, now moved the gas from the cylinder valve to the ejector resulting in the reduction of numerous parts and only a single vacuum line was needed. If that line failed accidentally, the gas flow would STOP immediately.
Jim Haskett's “chlorinator” was safer and more efficient. It was so innovative and well received that his direct-cylinder mounting concept became the world's standard by the time he sold the company in 1970.
In 1975, he and his wife, Diane, designed a new chlorinator that was even better than his original in terms of serviceability, durability and reliability. They founded a new company, Chlorinators Incorporated, which is as successful as Haskett's original company, and for the same reasons: strong product, ongoing research resulting in continual improvement and an intense devotion to quality, innovation, reliability and customer service.
Diane Haskett is still the owner and President of Chlorinators Incorporated. JCS Industries, Inc. was founded in 2002 as a product development company charged with developing an alternative to the current vacuum feed liquid doser technology for a worldwide manufacturer of water and waste treatment equipment. A History of Innovation
In 1919 a young chemist, Frank LaMotte, decided to focus his expertise in the area of pH analysis on specific applications of chemical control. Within a few years, LaMotte's small laboratory in Baltimore, Maryland was manufacturing specialized pH indicators and other analytical reagents for world-wide distribution. The applications section of LaMotte's first major catalog, published in 1930, anticipated many of the areas in which accurate chemical control is indispensable today - boiler water, swimming pools, drinking water, and more.
Today LaMotte Company is located on its own 15-acre industrial park near colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore. FOGRod (Serving Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida) The FOGRod works so well because it is simple - almost as simple as floats, but with much less maintenance; way simpler than ultrasonics; and can't fail like pressure transducers.
How it Works
The FOGRod hangs in the wastewater and connects to the LIT in the control panel with its 11-core cable. The LIT applies a small voltage to each metal contact on the FOGRod and looks for current flow. When a FOGRod contact is under water, current flows to ground. When a contact is dry, no current flows. It’s like closing a light switch – but in this case wastewater completes the circuit.
The LIT has 10 relays corresponding to the 10 contacts on the FOGRod. Pick the relays you want to use and wire them into your PLC, your pump controller – or even directly into your starters. If you are replacing floats, just unhook the float wires and connect the LIT relays into the same points. It’s like having 10 floats, but you just pick the ones you want to use.
The LIT also has a 4-20mA output that increases in 1mA steps for each FOGRod contact. So you can replace pressure transducers, ultrasonics and bubblers. If you are replacing floats you can wire the 4-20mA into your telemetry system and get remote level.
The FOGRod has no moving parts, no electronics and no sensors – so there’s nothing in the wetwell to tangle up, get stuck in position, or fail. It is almost as simple as floats.
The FOGRod cable has 11 cores but only 10 contacts. One of the cores is a “loopback” test for the top contact. If the cable is broken (e.g., from rats eating the cable) the LIT registers an alarm and activates a fault relay. The same happens if the cable insulation is stripped off in the cable conduit.
